1. Don't touch the body piercing especially with dirty hands always wash your hands before you touch the body piercing.
2. Clean your piercing three times a day with the product that your
piercer recommends, NEVER use Alcohol, alcohol based products, or
hydrogen peroxide on your piercing they may damage health tissue and
causes scar tissue. Petroleum based product are not recommend either
they promote infection.
3. Avoid Tanning bed, or sun tanning while healing your piercing. Definitely never use tanning lotions or oils on the piercing.
4. Three days into the healing process on surface piercing ( naval,
eyebrow etc.) I recommend using coco butter lotion very sparingly to
hydrate the tissue, avoid getting the lotion into the piercing.
Cleaning the piercing which is very important can dehydrate the tissue
so it is just as important to hydrate the tissue to avoid red irritated
piercing.
5. ALWAYS consult your piercer if you have concerns about the healing
process.. they are the professional and will instruct you on the proper
care for your piercing.
6. Oral piercing: Use the aftercare product recommend by your piercer.
Anytime you eat drink or smoke rinse your mouth out with water. Use
purified sea salt rinses three times a day. NEVER use any type of mouth
wash, they are to strong and will cause more harm then healing. Get a
new tooth brush don't use the old tooth brush it is full of germs.
7. Don't let the body piercing come in contact with another persons
bodily fluids. As always consult your piercer if you have any questions
about the healing process.
